1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using One Line Diary, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Description of Service

One Line Diary is a personal diary application that stores your entries on your device, with optional iCloud backup. You can optionally enable AI-generated reflections. When AI is enabled, entry text is sent to our servers momentarily to generate reflections and is not stored.

One Line Diary is a personal journaling tool. It does not provide medical, psychological, or other professional advice and is not a substitute for therapy, counselling, or medical treatment. Any AI-generated content is for reflection only and may not be accurate or complete.

3. Eligibility & Account Requirements

The Service is intended for users who are at least 16 years old. By using One Line Diary, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.

• •You must provide a valid email address
• •You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
• •You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account

4. Your Content

• •You retain full ownership of all diary entries and content you create
• •We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content
• •You grant us a limited license to process your content solely to generate AI reflections when you opt in

Your account profile

We store your account profile (such as your email address and app preferences) on our servers so that you can sign in and use the service across devices. This information is separate from your diary entries.

Your diary entries and photos

Your diary entries and photos are stored locally on your device and, if you enable it, synced to your personal iCloud account. We do not store your diary entries or photos on our servers. You are responsible for managing your own device and iCloud backups.

When AI is enabled, entry text is sent to our servers momentarily for processing and then discarded. Photos are never sent.

5. AI Features & Disclaimer

• •AI features are off by default and require your explicit opt-in
• •AI-generated summaries and reflections are for personal reflection only
• •AI outputs are not professional advice (medical, psychological, legal, financial, or otherwise)
• •AI outputs may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or miss context
• •You should not rely on AI outputs for important decisions

One Line Diary is not a substitute for therapy, counseling, or any form of professional care. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact a qualified professional or emergency services.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• •Use One Line Diary for any illegal purpose
• •Attempt to access other users' data
• •Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application
• •Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the service
• •Interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure

7. Service Availability

• •AI features and account services require an internet connection
• •We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access
• •We do not guarantee that your data will always be available, and you are responsible for maintaining your own backups (for example via export or iCloud). Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under mandatory consumer law

8. Termination

• •You may delete your account at any time from Settings
• •We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms
• •Upon account deletion: your authentication account is permanently deleted from our servers. The app deletes its local data (SQLite database, photos) from your device where technically possible. If you enabled iCloud sync, your diary data is stored in your personal iCloud account, which we cannot access or control. You may need to manage or delete any remaining backups directly in your iCloud settings

9. Limitation of Liability

One Line Diary is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.

• •To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage, or for loss of profits or revenues, arising out of or related to your use of the service
• •Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim
• •We are not responsible for the accuracy or appropriateness of AI-generated content
• •Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under mandatory law, including mandatory consumer protection laws that apply in your country of residence

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Sweden. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Sweden.
